Autumn is an especially beautiful time to visit, when the surrounding mountains are covered in red and yellow foliage. Even the train ride to Peggau is part of the experience, with beautiful autumn scenery visible from the window.

This limestone cave was formed over hundreds of thousands of years. According to our guide, the cave remained warmer than the outside environment even during the Ice Age, making it a refuge for various animals. Numerous animal fossils and bones have reportedly been discovered inside the cave.
However, because the cave is a natural environment, weather conditions can have a significant impact. In recent years, heavy rainfall has caused the water level inside the cave to rise, and there were even periods when the cave was completely flooded and closed to visitors. Explore the Cave Safely on a Guided Tour
For safety reasons, visitors are required to join a guided tour to enter the cave. Independent exploration is not permitted, but the guides provide information in both German and English, making the experience easy to enjoy even for international visitors.
The admission fee is €12 for adults and €8 for children. The tour lasts approximately one hour, during which you walk through about 1 km of the cave.
