S-Budget Succo di Arancia Orange
First up is the inexpensive S-Budget orange juice. S-Budget is the discount brand of the Austrian supermarket chain SPAR, offering a wide range of products from food to household goods.
Although this orange juice is quite inexpensive, the taste is surprisingly good. It has the rich flavor you would expect from 100% orange juice and is perfectly enjoyable as an everyday drink.
Personally, I found it to be slightly more acidic than some other orange juices. This might be one reason why it is so inexpensive, but if you prefer a refreshing and tangy taste, you may actually like it. Considering the price, I think it offers excellent value for everyday drinking.
SPAR 100% Orange Juice
This is another orange juice from SPAR, but this one is part of the regular SPAR brand rather than S-Budget.
In terms of taste, it is quite similar to the S-Budget juice mentioned above. It also has the characteristic flavor of 100% orange juice, with a strong citrus taste.
To be honest, I did not notice a huge difference between the two, but both are reliable and enjoyable orange juices. It is nice to know that you can get perfectly good juice even from a supermarket’s own brand.
There is also a MILD version.
BILLA’s clever brand also offers an inexpensive orange juice.
Happy Day Orange Juice
This is a popular juice brand throughout Europe. It is produced by the Austrian beverage company Rauch Fruchtsäfte.
The brand is also commonly served by airlines, and I have actually seen it on flights before. It seems to be a fairly well-known juice brand throughout Europe.
Compared with the S-Budget juice mentioned above, this one has less acidity and a smoother, sweeter taste. Overall, the flavor is well balanced and easy to drink. It is a little more expensive, but I felt that the taste and overall quality were also a step up.
S-Budget 100% Apfel
This is S-Budget’s apple juice. It is inexpensive, but the taste is perfectly good. Just like in Japan, apple juice tends to be cheaper than orange juice, making it an easy choice for everyday drinking.
S-Budget Erdbeere Drink
Finally, here is a slightly unusual juice: S-Budget strawberry juice.
Strawberry juice is not something you see very often in Japan, but it is a fairly normal product on supermarket shelves in Austria. This particular drink contains 40% fruit juice, so it is not quite like freshly squeezed juice, but the strawberry flavor is still quite noticeable.
It is slightly on the sweet side, but personally I thought it was quite tasty. It feels more like a dessert-style drink, offering a different experience from the usual orange juice.

Apricots came into season and started appearing in large quantities at supermarkets, so I decided to try the SPAR apricot juice as well. Since it was a SPAR product, I expected something similar to a typical supermarket private-label juice, but it turned out to be surprisingly rich and concentrated.
In fact, it was so rich that I almost felt it might be better diluted a little. If you love apricots, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.
Pfanner Multi Rosso Bio
Pfanner’s Multi Rosso Bio is a mixed juice characterized by the sweet-and-sour flavor of berries combined with the earthy depth of beetroot. You can clearly taste the blackberry and blueberry flavors, giving it a slightly more sophisticated taste than an ordinary fruit juice.
The distinctive flavor of beetroot may not be for everyone, but I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys natural-style drinks and fruit-and-vegetable blends.
